AAAAAAAHHHHHH!! A busy few weeks had me almost forget about todays "Wednsdays Woman", but I made it just in time. So this Friday I'll be getting to see my favorite singer Brandy, "the vocal bible ", in concert. And i got Brandy on the brain . A few months ago I found out she was promoting her new album. So the night before I drew this in hopes it would get me a chance at meeting her....it didnt happen ..but it was close. LOL. Have a good week and smile :)

Wednsday's Woman #4
Happy Pre-Valentines Day everybody:) Wanted to share the process for this weeks "Wednsday's Woman". From doodle to final, its my goal in my final to always have that rough quality to itwhich i think adds a certain charm .The "final" is never merely traced from a rough but re-drawn. Enjoy, and until next time, have a great week everybody.

Wednesday's Woman #3
Another "Wednesday's Woman" has arrived. Today just wanted to share some roughs from my sketch book. Rough sketches are always my favorite ( i actually prefer thm more than a final cleaned up piece) I love the search lines and and the fact that you can see some of the artist thought process. Now go draw something, 'till next time :)

Wednesday's Woman
"why do you just draw girls ?"
I've been asked that for as long as I can remember, I dont know why theres just something about the female form thats awesome to draw. For years women have filled many pages of my sketchbooks, and why I haven't shared any of them is beyond me... until today. A few days ago I decided I'd post a womanly drawing every Wednesday for the rest of the year sooooooo welcome to WEDNESDAY'S WOMAN!!!!
My first entry will be the awesome Lady Gaga!!!! *paws up* !!! Monday I got to see one of my favorite singers put on an awesome show. The first image is her in my favorite wig she has that glows and syncs to her music! Awesome! see it all sparkly and hear mother monster demonstrate it here:
Next is a drawing inspired from her show on Monday where she talked about not giving a fuck about what others think about you and your dreams. Have a listen here:
Annnnnd to catch me up with the other Wednesday's of the month I've missed here some more :) Hope you enjoy, and hope I can keep up with this every Wed. ...guess we'll find out, 'till next time :)

New year, new projects:)
These long spans between post will need to stop this year...lol...speaking of,
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE !!!!
Things have been busy around here lately with the authors I've been working with but tonight I wanted to share a little from a personal project I started recently. For the last few years I've been helping others bring their characters to life and I decided it was time to bring one of my own little creations to the world. I'm hoping you're gonna fall in love with the ever so cute, loveable, impish and sometimes attention seeking little ME!!! :) thats right its me, since high school I've been drawing myself as five year old and over time his look as varied but the same personality was always there. I could just never think of the right project to present my 'lil me to the world.
It wasn't till a recent trip back home to reservation that i got an idea ( though after i wondered why i never thought of it earlier ) Some of the grown ups were talking about how younger generations from our tribe will never know certain things that were meant to be passed on, customs, dances, songs and legends. It hit me then that I would illustrate a series of childrens books of some of our tribes legends. The more I thought of it the more I realized how much this project would do for me. I always wanted to give back to my tribe for all the help that was provided so i could attend art school in California. I'd pass on some important legends for future generations. And I'd also be able to use my character to help introduce these stories.
That was a bit of reading but i just wanted to share a little of the back story behind the project so I hope you enjoy theses development pieces of the charaters from the first legend, " Coyote and Bluebird"

Why hello there :)
Hellooooo...holy moly, didnt realize its been this long since my last post. And to put a stop to the rumors that i was killed in a tragic go-go dancer related accident I'm here to show a little of what has been keeping me busy lately. Lets see.... when last we met the first two children's books I illustrated had just came out and since then they've took on steam. Its been great at the book signing I've been at to hear people really enjoy the work I've done..kinda surreal...but its been a really motivator too. Especially when you can enter your name on Amazon and pull up your stuff...weiiiiiiird!!!
"I am Flippish!" is a cool book about learning and being proud your heritage. I've been working with the author Leslie Ryan on creating the second edition since its about to go INTERNATIONAL!!!! :) Very proud of Leslie, she wasn't to sure what would happen when putting out the book but its been well received and gotten great reviews.
And not be forgotten in," Where did the Floufooze go?" we met Chuck and learn how our actions towards the environment can cause some major problems for other creatures. Actually...as I type this im not sure that Im allowed to share whats coming next from Chuck and friends. Dang..Ill find out..I hope I can Im really excited for the next step :D to be continued....
Somehow I have found my self continuing in the game of illustration, and earlier this year I met author Annie Winston at a book signing and I was asked to be the illustrator for her "Heroical Storical" series. A cool chapter book series about time traveling twins who travel by flying ship and find themselves in adventures with some historical figures. These are just a couple images from a few of the chapters. Its been awesome to work with just some paper and pencil, its for sure where I feel the most comfortable love the sound of the pencil scratching away on the paper...no seriously...i love that sound lol
And yes, yes a romance cover...my dear friend for many years is about to publish her third romance novel and asked me to do the cover. I was a bit hesitant cuz i haven't rendered a human figure in forever but my love for more " painterly" styles may be my saving grace ..oh lord and its digital...*sigh* lol ..its still a work in progress but i think its headed in a good direction...i hope
And last but not least just a quick little look at "Kiddo" the cutest little beagle pup in the whooooole world. He's a cute lil guy and he's about to swing into full production and join the world in a few short months.
well..i think thats about it for now. I still gotta lot more to share with you guys and I promise another blog post very soon. On top of all this I do have some personal projects that I'm really excited to share with you guys..however those projects come second to the ones that pay the bills...lol...but i promise the next post i'll show ya some projects close to me heart. :)
